When it comes to building a resilient, sustainable city, Valladolid in Spain has found its own way thanks to EU funds: renewing old buildings to improve energy efficiency, investing in clean public transport and creating a network of recharging points for electric cars. Remourban is a Horizon 2020 project involving seven countries with a contribution of €21 million from the EU budget. Providing clear information on costs and benefits is key to building partnerships with local communities, explains Rosa Huertas, project manager in Valladolid.
